Attaching your domain name to your hosting account is an essential step to make your website accessible. Here’s how to do it using cPanel:

Step 1: Log in to Your cPanel

Use your cPanel login credentials provided by your hosting provider to access the cPanel dashboard.

Step 2: Update Your Domain Name Servers (DNS)

1.Confirm the Nameservers you should use for your server:

In cPanel, check for the DNS details, found in your welcome email from Asporea Hosting.

They often look like:

  • adns11.asporeahosting.com
  • adns12.asporeahosting.com

2.Log in to Your Domain Registrar:

Visit the registrar where you purchased the domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap).

3.Change the Nameservers:

Locate the option to manage your domain’s DNS settings.

Replace the current nameservers with those provided by your hosting provider.

Save the changes.

4.Wait for DNS Propagation:

It can take up to 24–48 hours for the changes to fully propagate worldwide.

Step 3: Add the Domain in cPanel

1.Access the Domain Section:

In the cPanel dashboard, navigate to “Domains” or “Addon Domains” under the Domains section.

2.Add the Domain Name:

Click on “Create a New Domain” or “Add Domain” depending on the option available.

Enter your domain name in the provided field (e.g., example.com).

Ensure the document root directory is correctly set (typically /public_html/example.com for addon domains).

Click “Add Domain” or “Save Changes”.

3.Verify the Domain:

Once added, test by typing your domain name in a browser to check if it’s pointing to your hosting account. You may see a placeholder page or an error until your website is set up.

Step 4: Set Up a Website or Redirect

If the domain is new, install a website using tools like Softaculous (e.g., WordPress).

For parked domains or redirects, configure the settings in the Domains section of cPanel.
